Transition Year
Transition Year is an optional one-year school programme that can be taken in the year after the Junior Certificate.
The programme aims to promote the personal, social and educational development of pupils and to prepare them for their role as autonomous, participative and responsible members of society.
It is a year in which students have the opportunity to:
- Try out all Leaving Certificate subjects
- Develop key skills they will need in the transition from Junior to Senior cycle
- To sample possible careers through work experience
- To grow personally through involvement in a wide range of experiences and extra-curricular activities
